Kate Gilmore was born in Washington D.C. in 1975 and lives and works in
New York, NY. Recent exhibitions include the Whitney Biennial, Whitney
Museum of Art, New York, New York; Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn, New
York; PS1/MoMA, Queens, New York; The Kitchen, New York, New York.
Gilmore’s work has been reviewed in numerous publications including: The New Yorker, The New York Times, New York Magazine, The Guardian, Washington Post, Time Magazine, Newsweek, Flash Art, Brooklyn Rail, Village Voice, Chicago Tribune, Art in America, Modern Painters, ArtUs, Time Out/NewYork, Artnews, Art Papers, San Francisco Chronicle, and Artforum. Gilmore received her MFA from the School of Visual Arts, New York, and her Bachelors degree from Bates College, Lewiston, Maine.
