EMILY MULLIN ART SUNDAE

Presented in partnership with Rockefeller Center at Rockefeller Center

Press Release

EMILY MULLIN: ART SUNDAE

Artist Emily Mullin's Art Sundae installation at Rockefeller Center is a collaboration between children and Brooklyn-based artist Emily Mullin.

On July 17, 2022, Mullin led a children’s public art-making workshop at Rockefeller Center.

Inspired by Mullin’s current Art in Focus exhibition at Rockefeller Center, participants were invited to create their own sculptural vessels using clay. Provided with air-dry clay the children were given the opportunity to experiment with sculpting by hand and creating unique objects of beauty.

Children’s clay vessels are adorned with silk flowers and presented on top of large sculptural forms created by Emily and Tony Mullin, connecting the installation to Mullin’s multidisciplinary practice as well as her campus-wide exhibition currently on view at Rockefeller Center.
