February 20 – March 4, 2012

P3Studio
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
3708 Las Vegas Boulevard South
Las Vegas, NV 89109

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas in partnership with Art Production Fund continues its renowned Artist-in-Residence program with Israeli-born visual artist Leor Grady, who brings his interactive site responsive project Untitled (Bedroom) to P3Studio, Wednesday through Sunday, 6-11PM from February 20 through March 4.

Leor Grady’s works introduce the idea of intimacy and rest in the public domain while encouraging viewer participation. During his residency at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, guests are invited to interact with the sculptural objects he creates including a wall of pillows and a pile of sheets which are designed to generate feelings of longing, poetics and identity in an unexpected way at an unexpected place. The project interjects intimacy and quietude into the wondrous colorful rhythms of Las Vegas. Visitors who stop by and engage in the space may even leave with an item personalized with poetic text to advance the sense of intimacy and contemplation. After his residency, all linens and pillows used for Leor’s project will be donated to the charitable organizations Las Vegas Rescue Mission and Opportunity Village.

Leor‘s work has been shown in the US and abroad, at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington DC, Rush Arts Gallery, Exit Art Gallery, Center for Book Arts and Y Gallery in New York City and the Haifa Museum of Art in Israel, as well as in public and private collections and in various publications.

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is committed to building a platform for art and culture as an integral part of the guest experience. P3 Studio is an artist-in-residence program that invites international, national and local artists to create projects that are interactive and participatory, giving guests the opportunity to connect with art at an authentic and personal level. The program debuted with artist Fab 5 Freddy when the resort opened in December 2010, and since has included artists Shelter Serra, MK Guth, Luftwerk, Jerry Misko and Curtis Kulig.

The Artist-in-Residence program at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas represents one component of its larger art program, developed and curated in partnership with Art Production Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to producing ambitious public art projects, reaching new audiences and expanding awareness through contemporary art.
