Press Release

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas in partnership with Art Production Fund is pleased to announce its March Artist-in-Residence, The Bumbys who’ll bring their typewriters and charming wit to P3 Studio March 8 - April 1.

The Bumbys, individually known as Gill & Jill Bumby, are an anonymous New York performance artist duo who provide typewritten “Fair and Honest Appraisals of Your Appearance.” It’s as simple as it sounds – you stand front and center and they type a personalized assessment of how they think you look, complete with a number rating on a scale of 1 to 10. The Bumbys will also be collaborating with guest artists throughout the residency, who will customize typewriters that will be become part of the experience.

Featured in the New York Times, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue Italia, CBS News and many other distinguished outlets for their quirky and objective interpretations of everyday citizens, the Bumbys will undoubtedly be a hit in P3 Studio.

Stop by and enjoy The Bumbys experience from 6-11PM Thursday through Sunday and get your own “Fair and Honest Appraisal of Your Appearance” on Thursdays from 7-8PM, Fridays from 8-9PM, Saturdays from 8-10PM and Sundays from 7-8PM.

The Artist-in-Residence program at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas represents one component of its larger art program, developed and curated in partnership with Art Production Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to producing ambitious public art projects, reaching new audiences and expanding awareness through contemporary art.

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is committed to building a platform for art and culture as an integral part of the guest experience. P3 Studio is an artist-in-residence program that invites international, national and local artists to create projects that are interactive and participatory, giving guests the opportunity to connect with art at an authentic and personal level. The program debuted with artist Fab 5 Freddy when the resort opened in December 2010, and since has included artists Shelter Serra, MK Guth, Luftwerk, Jerry Misko and Curtis Kulig.
