VANESSA BEECROFT: SHOW

Press Release

SHOW is a one-night-only live performance on April 23, 1998, featuring twenty models dressed in similiar apparel designed by Tom Ford for Gucci and stationed beneath the soaring rotunda of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.

Through SHOW, Beecroft continues her exploration of woman as an icon, not only in art, but in contemporary culture's portrayal of her. In SHOW Beecroft assembles a living portrait of fifteen models clothed in red monotone outfits and high-heeled rhinestones shoes designed by Tom Ford for Gucci. Five additional women will appear naked with a trace of beige foundation body makeup to create the image of "artificial" nudity.
