APF ART SUNDAE WITH COSMAS & DAMIAN BROWN AT FRIEZE LOS ANGELES
On SATURDAY, February 28, from 10 AM–1 PM, artist Cosmas & Damian Brown and Art Production Fund (APF) will host a free, public, all-ages interactive art-making workshop at Frieze Los Angeles as part of the APF Art Sundae program. Children will create their own sculptural work inspired by Brown’s practice by applying paint to metal vessels. The children’s sculptures will then be displayed as part of the Frieze Projects public art exhibition.
The workshop will take place at Airport Park at the Santa Monica Airport at 3201 Airport Ave, Santa Monica, CA 90405, located across the street from The Cloverfield restaurant. Two sessions will take place 10AM-11:30AM and 11:30AM-1PM, and participants may come and go at any point during their sessions. Sign up HERE!
This program coincides with the public program Frieze Projects: Body & Soul presented by APF. For this fourth consecutive year of Frieze Projects, APF has selected a group of Los Angeles-based artists who are exploring the boundaries of the human form across physical, temporal, and spatial dimensions. Through this series of public projects and programs, audiences are invited to reflect on the body, existence, and perception in both physical and metaphysical terms. The works are presented across the public areas of the Frieze campus and beyond, and are free and open to the public for the duration of the fair.

APF Art Sundae is an ongoing public program presented by APF that provides children a hands-on art-making experience led by a contemporary artist. Designed to be accessible and highlight art’s positive impact across all communities, this free program gives children the opportunity to experiment with various media inspired by an artist's practice. The work that is created in a collaboration between the artist and children then becomes a public art installation that remains on view. Art Sundae was started in 2017 by APF and Fort Gansevoort.
