ART SUNDAE WITH KENNY SCHARF AT ROCKEFELLER CENTER
This Fall, come make art with artist Kenny Scharf at Art Production Fund’s beloved Art Sundae workshop. Hosted every Saturday in October starting October 10!
On SATURDAY, October 10 from 10 AM–12 PM, artist Kenny Scharf and Art Production Fund (APF) will host a free, public, all-ages interactive art-making workshop at Rockefeller Center as part of the Art Sundae program. The program will continue on Saturdays October 17, 24 and 31st from 10AM - 12PM. Register HERE!
Inspired by Scharf’s otherworldly Living Sunshine Caverns, kids are invited to paint planters with playful characters and colorful designs. Each one-of-a-kind creation will house a plant, bringing a little bit of Scharf’s fantastical world to life! The children’s artworks will then be displayed at Rockefeller Center as part of a public art exhibition.
The workshops will take place outside 10 Rockefeller Plaza, on the South Plaza between 48th and 49th streets. In case of inclement weather, the workshops will move inside the lobby of 10 Rockefeller Plaza. Registration is for participating children only.
Art Sundae is an ongoing public program presented by APF that provides children a hands-on art-making experience led by a contemporary artist. Designed to be accessible and highlight art’s positive impact across all communities, this free program gives children the opportunity to experiment with various media inspired by an artist's practice. The work that is created in a collaboration between the artist and children then becomes a public art installation that remains on view.
