ART SUNDAE WITH KELLY WALL AT ROCKEFELLER CENTER
On SATURDAY, March 21, from 10 AM–1 PM, artist Kelly Wall and Art Production Fund (APF) hosted a free, public, all-ages interactive art-making workshop at Rockefeller Center as part of the Art Sundae program. Inspired by Wall's glass sculpture practice, the children were invited to collage lighting gel in shapes of clouds on to plexiglass magazine covers, clear mugs and key chains. The children’s artworks were then displayed at Rockefeller Center as part of a public art exhibition.
Art Sundae is an ongoing public program presented by APF that provides children a hands-on art-making experience led by a contemporary artist. Designed to be accessible and highlight art’s positive impact across all communities, this free program gives children the opportunity to experiment with various media inspired by an artist's practice. The work that is created in a collaboration between the artist and children then becomes a public art installation that remains on view. Art Sundae was started in 2017 by APF and Fort Gansevoort.
